Reading Guide - Example |
I will use the inflation cycle to teach students about inflation. I think it will be important to add an image so they can see that the cycle doesn’t end. It can be used as a visual and a study guide for students.
Students with special needs often have a hard time comprehending text and keeping all of the information in a story straight, filling out this guide can help them keep information straight. Students can use this as a cheat sheet to remember the important parts of a story such as characters, setting, main idea, conflict, and resolution. |

How to use Audacity |
My aunt wanted to learn how to use Audacity after I told her about it. She has a new grandchild in New York and thought it would be nice to record stories and send a CD with the book, so she can read to the baby. I gave her an overview of audacity and how some of the tools work. The video is longer but there were some specific things I wanted to make sure she could see and use when she used Audacity.
I can use this in the classroom to record math or grammar lessons for students. This will allow students to review the lesson when they are doing their homework. I can also use this to teach students how to use new software. I can record while I teach and they can use the video as a reference when they start the independent work. |

I cropped the first photo, corrected the colors, and added a caption. I fixed the color and then put on the focal black and white effect. I cropped the image to remove the head at the bottom and then enhanced the color. I cropped the image, enhanced the color, and added the glow effect. I cropped the image, enhanced the color and added a caption. I cropped and sharpened the image as well as enhanced the color and added the focal black and white effect. * All of the images were resized.* These photos are personal but I could use Picasa to enhance and edit my photos from Washington, D.C. and make a slideshow for students when they study government. |

Storybook |
My niece loves the story Rain Drop Plop. While we read it, we have to make rain sounds. I have read the story and added a background track of rain that fades in and out with the rain in the story. My niece can listen to the story and follow along while she reads, giving her the start of independence while she reads. This can also be helpful for students who are not at reading level, They can practice reading to the computer and see how their fluency and accuracy change as they re-read the story. I could also use it for students who have comprehension problems. The student could read the story on their own and then listen to a recoding I have done to make sure they didn't miss anything while decoding words. |
