Nouns - A noun tells who the people (Ms. Anderson\boy), place (Brookings\school), thing (ball), and ideas (love) are in a sentence.
Verbs - A verb is a word whose main role is to enhance an action (read/write). If you can take the word and actually "do" something with it, it is probably the verb in the sentence. * Verbs sometimes end in ing or ed.
Adjective - An adjectives role is to enhance the noun or pronoun in a sentence. Adjectives often answer questions:
How much?
How many?
What color?
What size?
What shape?
What smell?
